BARNATCHURCHFARM

If you can tear yourself away from the tranquility of barnatchurchfarm, Compton Dundon has a village pub within walking distance for a meal out and is well placed for visiting a host of attractions. Glastonbury with its world famous festival and magnificent abbey is only a ten minute drive away, as is Street where Clarks shopping village can be found. The medieval city of Wells with its historic walls and spectacular cathedral is under half an hour away or spend your days visiting Bath, Bristol, the Somerset Levels, the Quantock Hills, Somerset and Devon's coastline, the beautiful Blackdown Hills, Bath's impressive Roman City and Exmoor National Park.  The sandy beach at Burnham on Sea is only half an hour away and Cheddar Gorge and caves are just slightly further. Fleet Air Arm Museum is another popular attraction, as are the National Trust properties of Montacute, Stourhead and Lytes Cary to name a few. There are numerous and beautiful walks to be had too!

COMPTON DUNDON - Compton Dundon is made up of several settlements of which the main ones are Compton, Dundon, and Littleton. Compton lies on the B3151 between Street and Somerton.  Dundon is 1km west of the main road with St Andrews Church on a loop that runs around Dundon Beacon.  Church Farm is situated in the Dundon part of the village between the two hills of Lollover and the Beacon. Dundon was recorded as existing in the 10th century and there was probably a church on the site then.  The great yew tree in the churchyard, reputed to be over 1700 years old, was certainly here.
